The adventure starts
Breach
I am building this game as the Capstone Project for my learning experience at Circuit Stream. When my classes started, I was deeply interested in XR and while learning my interest in AR grew stronger.
In the past, I've worked in the implementation of SaaS for companies and fell in love with the ability of SW to smooth and streamline processes; therefore, I wanted to combine my passion and my experience by building an AR trainer simulator for companies. Unfortunately, I realized today that the requirements of my Capstone Project were not aligned with my initial planning ... I was required to develop a game instead of a simulation.
Agile Methodology
This is a practical example of how useful Agile is; changing and evolving requirements are one of the few sure things in development projects and I used Scrum, an agile framework, to handle this situation.
Bellow you find how the three pillars of Scrum are helping me overcome this challenge:
TRANSPARENCY | INTROSPECTION | ADAPTATION |
Creating and maintaining DevLogs allows everyone interested in this project to have a clear understanding of the estate of the project | Assessing the scope of the AR application I had been designing made me realize it was not aligned with the goals of the Capstone Project | Based on the introspection findings, I can pivot the design towards a game maintaining the elements planned originally that are in sync with this new iteration: I will build an AR game for Android that can be used by companies to promote active breaks improving the well-being of the employees. |
I am excited to keep experiencing continuous improvement throughout all the iterations of my capstone project development journey.
